My name is Heinz Hermann Maria Hoppe. I produce ideas, continuously, in series. For me, the process of creation can be compared to the structure of trees, with their branches down to the macro level. Starting from the trunk, at each creative fork it comes down to the decision for the further path. Having reached the end of the ramifications, I sketched many variants on leaves. If the intermediate results no longer fit the roots of the conception, I return to an earlier fork and strike a new path.

When Neil Armstrong jumped to the moon in 1969, I was six years old. It was then that I got an idea of the magic that can be made possible by thinking the seemingly impossible. I try to design against gravity and uncover new levels of imagery. Sometimes I have the feeling that the images are already there and it is up to us to find them and dig them out. Like archaeological fragments that tell our story when they are reassembled after a long time.

‘Electric brushes’ open up fantastic spaces of imagination, freed from all barriers of utopian imagery. 3D visualizations and digital photographs build bridges between abstraction and irritation. Fragments from experiments are transformed into imaginations. Digital explorations turn into metaphors.
